Giltrap Group's Sustainable Distribution Hub

In September 2023, Giltrap Group celebrated a significant milestone with the completion of their new European Motor Distributors centre at 112 Pavilion Drive, Mangere, Auckland.

This impressive facility delivers a modern, sustainability-focused solution for the company's warehousing, distribution, office, and training needs. Spanning 6,000 square metres, it is purpose-built to optimise parts and distribution logistics while providing over 1,000 square metres of contemporary office and training facilities. Designed with efficiency in mind, the centre supports streamlined operations for both staff and clients.

Sustainability is at the heart of this facility. The building proudly boasts a 5-Star Green Star rating, a testament to its eco-conscious design and construction. Achieving this standard required a holistic approach, blending innovative sustainable design, responsible material selection, environmental modelling, and rigorous construction management.

From the earliest stages, CS&R played a crucial role in the project, providing client representation and contract administration services, including Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) management, creation of the NZS 3910:2013 construction contract, as well as the management of Project Control Group (PCG) and site meetings, and payment claim certification. This thorough oversight helped ensure the project’s quality, compliance, and timely delivery at every phase.

The project team, including Dominion Constructors Ltd, Stiffe Hooker Ltd, and Tricia Love Consultants, worked collaboratively to track and exceed Green Star benchmarks. Their commitment to energy efficiency and continuous improvement was evident throughout every stage, from concept to completion.

The European Motor Distributors centre sets a new benchmark for sustainable distribution facilities in New Zealand. By integrating environmentally responsible practices with cutting-edge design, the Giltrap Group has demonstrated that operational excellence and sustainability can go hand in hand. This facility not only supports the immediate needs of the business but also reflects a long-term commitment to a greener future.
