Lexus Flagship Showroom Delivered
The transformation of 21 Great South Road into the new Lexus of Auckland City showroom stands as a testament to CS&R’s exceptional project management expertise. Entrusted with overseeing the $3 million refurbishment, CS&R played a pivotal role in elevating the site into a flagship destination, seamlessly aligning with Lexus’s global standards for luxury, innovation, and customer experience.
The refurbishment of the 2,800-square-metre, two-level building required careful sequencing of works within a live commercial environment. CS&R managed interfaces between multiple trades and ensured continuity of the Lexus customer experience, even as the space was transformed around them. Their proactive approach helped keep the project on track, minimising disruption for both staff and clients.
Acting as the project manager, CS&R took charge from the earliest planning stages through to completion, working closely with main contractor TPW and the Giltrap Group. The team’s remit included coordinating stakeholders, maintaining a rigorous construction programme, and ensuring that every detail reflected Lexus’s commitment to premium quality.
CS&R’s focus on quality control was critical to delivering the bespoke finishes and premium materials that define the new showroom. The team collaborated with designers, consultants, and contractors to resolve construction challenges, maintain design compliance, and consistently uphold the brand’s high standards for presentation and performance.
This hands-on involvement ensured that every element—from the EV charging stations for six vehicles to the customer lounge and indoor vehicle displays—was executed to perfection. The result is a refined, modern environment that enhances both customer engagement and the display of Lexus vehicles.
The project’s complexity was heightened by the need to manage the transition from the old site on Great North Road to the new facility, all while supporting a team of 34 staff and ensuring uninterrupted service for Lexus clients. CS&R’s expertise in stakeholder management and operational continuity proved invaluable, allowing the Lexus of Auckland City team to move in and begin delivering on their promise of “Experience Amazing” from day one.
